Photo Tour: Jasper, Alberta

The Photo tour starts on a Friday evening, with a full day on Saturday and concludes Sunday afternoon. Our photographer, David Buzzeo, will guide you through how to choose the best location for a given day and time. How to work an alpine site. What special considerations there are for shooting in the mountains? Composition beyond the rule of thirds. An in-depth look at exposure strategies. Photographing in less than ideal conditions, (low light, overcast days, bad weather, extreme contrast etc.), post-production tips.

Participants are responsible for their own accommodations and meals. All the photo sites are easily accessed from the roadway and involve no more than an easy fifteen-minute walk.

Friday, June 13th:

  • 6:00 PM      Arrive and meet at the Pyramid Lake Resort

  • 6:30 PM      A quick shoot around Pyramid Lake

  • 8:30 PM      Meet and greet to go over the basics, deal with any equipment issues, and critique the

    evening images

Saturday, June 14th:

  • 5:00 AM      Sunrise shoot at Pyramid Lake.

  • 9:00 AM      Breakfast

  • 10:30 AM     Morning shoot Maligne Canyon

  • 1:30 PM        Lunch Maligne Lake

  • 2:00 PM       Afternoon shoot Maligne Lake

  • 6:00 PM       Dinner

  • 7:30 PM       Image critique after dinner

  • 10:00 PM      Sunset shoot near the Athabasca River

Sunday, June 13th:

  • 4:30 AM        Leave for a sunrise shoot at Moab Lake

  • 9:30 AM        Breakfast in the Field

  • 10:30 AM      Morning shoot Horseshoe Lake and Athabasca Falls

  • 1:00 PM        Lunch Jasper

  • 2:00 PM        Image critique

  • 3:00 PM        Dismissal. Those who want to leave can be home in Edmonton by 7:00 PM

Cost: $624.75 (includes GST)

The tour fee includes transportation within the park is included. *Subject to COVID restrictions that are in place at the time of the tour.

While we are fully insured, all participants are required to sign a standard participant’s release and indemnity agreement prior to the tour.

Cancellation Policy. You may cancel up to 30 days before the event with a 25% penalty. After that, there is no refund for cancelling. This tour will proceed regardless of the weather. (Sometimes the best images are produced during inclement weather.)
